Elliot and I were there last April - met some of these guys. Wind wasn't so good tho'. It is about an hour to walk up from parking lot. Elliot wasn't set up with a backpack frame so I helped him get the gear there. It was a bit of a slog especially along the sand. On a good day you can sail back down but not the day we were there. It is a beautiful location as is all of Pt. Reyes. Here are some of the photos we took at the time - URL is:
